Access to the VCH Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Team is by referral. Walk-in support is open to all youth 12 to 24 years old. Youth will have access to peer support, social services, mental health and substance use counselling. Support is free, confidential, and ensures that youth accessing supports are provided with welcoming, inclusive, and accessible service. No appointment or referral is needed. A safe place for youth 12 to 18 to connect, share, and have fun. Join for discussions around identity, gender, and inclusion. Activities include arts and crafts, group games, guest speakers, fun outings, and more. Open to all identities, sexual orientations, questioning youth and allies. Portage Paddle ProgramTHIS PROGRAM BEGINS ON: November 3, 2022 | Location to be determined
Youth 14 to 24 can apply to participate in a workshop to carve their own paddle while learning about trees and Indigenous traditions. The goal is to build strength in character, both in the participants and our community. Foundry Sea to Sky invites all youth ages 12 to 24 to join See-Appl-tun (Art Harry) to create their own rawhide drum and drum stick. The day will include drum making and demonstrations on how to design and paint the drums once they are dry. Participants will go home with their own drum, drum stick, and paint set for painting their design on it afterward. Games and lunch is provided.
