Your Connection with Foundry Sea to Sky: I am the Director of Clinical Delivery Services at Sea to Sky Community Services, overseeing the development of services and operations for the Foundry Sea to Sky Centre.
Why does Foundry Sea to Sky matter to you? I started off my youth service career many years ago in a practicum placement at a multi-service youth centre. I met many youth through that experience who deeply benefited from a wrap-around model. When I think about the positive impact of responsive, compassionate wrap around youth care, I think back to my experience there as one example of a very valuable approach. While youth services was not my first choice of profession when I entered my Social Work education, after my practicum working in the youth centre I was hooked. The multiple services working together, making a positive impact on youth and the community inspired me and I have never turned back.
How do you envision Foundry Sea to Sky making an impact in our community?
I have been working in the field of youth services for over 15 years now, in multiple communities. I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact of integrated youth care, with organizations working together collaboratively in the best interest of youth. Foundry Sea to Sky will bring together multiple programs and services to provide the level of wrap around care that young people need to thrive. With walk-in counselling, the new youth hub drop-in, and thoughtful transitions to adult services, Foundry Sea to Sky will streamline youth care in the community, making navigation of services easier for youth and their families.
